EMECLYS: THE TWILIGHTS VOID

EMECLYS: THE TWILIGHTS VOID

EMECLYS: THE TWILIGHTS VOID

Nov 22, 2025

The year is 9012, and the world is reaching what is called technological advancement. Secondary societies are thriving, and even poor countries have made technological progress. The Solben continent, which houses multiple societies and is rich in culture and authenticity, has seen rapid development and structural advancement. A continent that was once targeted by great powers for its resources and wealth—which was almost depleted—has finally reached stability.

In the country of Luveria, home to one of the most powerful warriors and boasting great military strength, lies one of the great calamities that almost engulfed the entire continent of Solben in a sea of fire and war. Due to rapid technological advancement, certain cultural practices have long been considered dead and forgotten. With these cultural practices lost, the Emeclys have started to roam the human world, causing havoc across the continent. Some countries have already been sent to ruin due to the fluctuation between the spirit realm and the human realm. A nation in the southern part of Solben has produced powerful Exorcists to deal with these Emeclys.

In the year 900Xc, the king of this powerful nation sealed the calamities, bringing peace and prosperity to the Solben continent. Since then, this nation has produced powerful exorcists who have kept the continent peaceful and prosperous.

As time went by, the power of the exorcists dwindled, and the retaliation of the Emeclys kept growing. The great calamities have been sealed in different countries and are guarded by royal families.

“You have the duty to protect your nation from the great calamities awakening. They threaten to tear apart the peaceful world you know. My... I entrust everything to you.”

“Who... are you?”

“Naka! Seriously, you better not be dozing off again. Honestly, you’re such a burden.”

Naka stirred awake. “I had that dream again... but this time, it felt more vivid. More real,” he murmured, his eyes fixed on the lifeless body of a four-legged yokai.

Suma clicked his tongue sharply. “I swear, dragging everyone down seems to be your specialty, slowpoke.”

“Give him a break, Suma. Not everyone’s blessed with endless stamina like you.”

Suma shot back, clearly annoyed, “Ugh, I can’t believe I’m stuck with you. You’re lucky Jax always has your back.”

Currently, Naka and his group are in the interior of the Emeclys-infested forest at the edge of the village where he grew up. As the rift between the spirit realm and the human world keeps growing, villages without protection become feeding spots for Emeclys. Naka, born with the gift to see the Emeclys, has been tasked along with others in the village to push back the evil Emeclys threatening the livelihood of his home and neighboring villages.

“The sun’s dipping below the horizon. Pack up—time to head back to the village,” Naka called out.

Jax peeked into Naka’s bag, grinning. “So, Naka, how’d your exorcising go today? Anything exciting?”

Naka shifted uncomfortably. “Uh... well... I don’t think I came across anything worth mentioning,” he said, avoiding Jax’s gaze.

Jax ruffled Naka’s hair with a chuckle. “Aw, don’t sweat it. I was hoping today would be the day you bring back some trophies, but hey, there’s always next time.”

Paranormal activities are phenomena that cannot be easily explained, as they occur in a realm inaccessible to ordinary humans. Ghosts, Yokais, Demons, and Monsters—these entities are collectively known as Emeclys. They are said to have existed long before humans ever set foot on this earth. For generations, there have been humans who have confronted these enigmatic beings, traditionally called Exorcists (Izangoma or Izinyanga). These individuals are believed to possess a rare gift: the ability to see and hear the Emeclys. Just as the world contains both good and evil, so too do Emeclys embody forces of light and darkness. It is the Exorcists’ solemn duty to identify, remove, and eradicate the malevolent Emeclys in order to preserve the balance of the world.
