Description
Engine’ takes place in a Kansas that never became a state in a nation that never became America. Manifest Destiny was interrupted by the emergence, almost from nowhere, of Engineers and the technology they spread. As the story opens, the Civil War still rages, the frontier is open, the Plains Indians are unconquered and California is a part of Mexico. In ‘Engine’ you’ll find wind-powered golems, solar-powered death rays, steam-hammer cyborgs moving alongside re-imagined historical figures such as Annie Oakley and Geronimo. Call it ‘sustainability punk.’
