BahamaJulie

Amarillis Greene, a 14-year-old girl living in early 19th century America, just wants to go to school, learn how to read and write, play cowboy, and roll down hills in boys' clothes! But laws and dress codes forbid her from being who she really is, an adventurous, tomboyish girl who actually knows everything!

Amarillis knows that, in sixteen years, women will be able to attend school. And that in fifty years, the sixteenth president will end slavery. And that in two hundred years, she'll be able to be who she really is inside, without the outside world judging her by looks (and gender) alone!
