Amarillis Greene, a 14-year-old girl living in early 19th century America, just wants to go to school, learn how to read and write, play cowboy, and roll down hills in boys' clothes! But laws and dress codes forbid her from being who she really is, an adventurous, tomboyish girl who actually knows everything!
