Excerpt:
"How do you know who I am?" I demand. "And why did you pretend that you didn't know me? This is weird and it doesn't make sense. Am I on some sort of TV show?"
"Because we wanted to talk to you before you had the chance to run. You are, after all, rather interesting when it comes to your Bio-tech, aren't you?" Oliver takes a few steps around his immaculate room towards me just as I take a step back. I turn, but the only obvious way out of the room is through the elevator, and while my eye is still blaring red, I'm not going down there anytime soon.
"I don't know what you mean. I'm just an ordinary modder. Nothing weird or special to see here," I protest, looking back at Oliver with an indignant expression. I raise my hands in front of me in innocence.
"Mmhm. An ordinary modder you say, and yet your files read otherwise. For instance, the fact that your bio-tag has you labeled as deceased," Oliver takes another step forward, leaning in towards me. He holds up three fingers as he counts off. "Now, there are multiple ways that could have happened. One, it's an administrative error that you just haven't bothered to correct, which would be odd, because it would mean you wouldn't even be able to ride a bus in this city, so let's rule that one out. Two, you have stolen the identity of a deceased person for some nefarious reason, and this is a simple case of identity theft and you should be handed to the police."
Oliver only has one finger left up now, and he taps me on the nose with it. I resist the urge to bite him.
"Or the third option: You really did die, and when the files were updated to say that you did, you made sure that they stayed that way, hacking them so that you can fly under the radar, though for a reason that escapes me."
Coming in early 2024, a BL story set in a cyberpunk futuristic world. Featuring polyamory, a futuristic technology, and the heavy dose of weird that you've grown to love and know from me.
