Theo layed sprawled on the cold floor of his apartment, watching the second hand drag itself around in tired circles. Everything about the room was dim- the single lamp barely holding back the shadows, the threadbare curtains blocking the sun. The air smelled faintly of stale ramen and dust.
Another wasted afternoon.Another day of just existing.
He should've gone to class. Or even called his brothers.Or at least gone outside to buy some food. But his body didn't cooperate anymore. Seizures came and went like unpredictable storms, leaving him hollowed out, dizzy, and ashamed. His doctors had shrugged years ago.
"Some form of epilepsy" they'd say
"we'll try different meds" none of them worked for long
Theo had spent more time in the ER waiting rooms than in his classrooms. And at twenty-two, he already felt......done.
the aura hit him suddenly. That sickening hum behind his eyes that metallic taste in his mouth. The clock slipped out of focus. The world tilted
Not again.
Not now.
Theo tried to push himself up, to grab his phone, but his arm flopped uselessly. Muscles locked. His heart stumbled in his chest. The seizure wasn't passing this time.
He wanted to scream, but all that cam out was a ragged gasp. His vision shattered into fragments. Blackness rushed in from the edges.
This.....feels different....
Some part of him knew:
This is the end
As his body convulsed, his mind strangly calmed. He wasn't angry.
He was tired.
No family to find him, No friends to call. Just the headline that was waiting for him:
