My name is K (I’ll leave it at that for now) and today I'm going to tell you all a story. Now before you ask it's not a story about wicked stepmothers or a far off kingdom.( Let's save that for fairy tales) It's a story about me or maybe you or anyone else for that matter. The story can take place anywhere aswell, the only thing that matters is it's about a person struggling to find their identity. As you'll soon find out i’m a normal person. But what is NORMAL? Is it the way you walk or the way you talk? Is it your attitude or your opinion?I mean the dictionary gives no help:
nor·mal/ ˈnôrməl/
adjective
conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
Lots of things can be expected or even typical, you might say my growing TBR pile is typical of a bookworm or my less than epic social life is usual for a introvert. But that still doesn't help, it just makes me sound subpar or even less than extraordinary. But even now as I sit here telling P all of this, I can’t tell their reaction, I mean there is a computer and about 5000 miles separating us now but still. All that's there is the three little dots that let me know they're still there. After about half an hour P finally responds,”What happened?” it might be a short response but that's all I need to start my weekly rant:
It started when I got out of bed this morning(Same as every morning, just different statements), She was ready to fire at me. Like usual she just looked around my room and stated “You used to keep your room so clean. Just like you used to be responsible, but now, now you can't even spend time with me.”A wave of emptiness washed over me as she stated those words. I mean what did she expect! My room is pretty clean but apparently not clean enough, either way with all my studying and HOMEWORK I usually only have a few hours of free time each night. Which is always spent with her and never doing what I want to do. I responded with my typical response “I’m sorry, I’ll clean it when I get home from school.” “Ok, be sure to do your homework first. Anyway I’m leaving for work now, your lunch is on the counter, love you” “Ok thanks, love you too.” As she left the wave went back out to sea as I walked down stairs and turned on the TV. I ate my pop tart and left for school, like usual it was raining (The best weather ever!) luckily I remembered to put my books into a zip-lock just incase my bag gets wet.
