For Mer-May, I've decided to do a preview of my upcoming novel Between Thunder and Lightning, since the creatures in it are aquatic based. Our novels are Illustrated! Icon, Banner and all illustrations are by http://www.amandadepasquale.com/
This is a WIP, minor changes will occur between this preview and the final project!

Synopsis:

Humanity is on the verge of extinction, oxygen has become tainted, and the resources left are limited.

In the midst of an attempted recovery, humans mine inter-dimensionaly for fuel and other necessities required for survival. After disrupting civilization on the aquatic dimension Osiris, two different species- the beautiful yet cold Lunites, and the harsh war loving Solari- use their natural ability to camouflage as their prey to seek refuge on Earth.

Rune is a Lunite in hiding. Found abandoned by a human doctor as a child, he is raised as a human and joins a scavenging team as a diver. Rune discovers that he's not the only one with secrets, and is forced into a fight he never wanted to be a part of. All while falling for a soldier whose very life revolves around capturing his kind.

Riley, a dedicated soldier, searches for her brother, a dimensional miner that’s been missing for months. After receiving help from an unlikely source, a hidden world of deception unfolds, causing devout Riley to question where her loyalties lie.
