Fragapanophobia, or natalophobia (from Latin natalis, birthday) is the irrational fear of birthdays. Causes of this fear include bad experiences involving or taking place during a birthday.

Toby, a chronic pessimist with a distaste for the fact that they were born is also a raging natalophobe, due to the catastrophe that was their 14th birthday. As their dreaded 15th finally arrives, preempted trepidation floods them as they begin to wonder whether this will be another flop, or perhaps, a birthday miracle?
