Nearly a thousand years in the future and humanity is under siege. An alien threat has emerged in the darkness beyond the settled worlds and seeks only their destruction, with superior technology only hastening this end.
Forced to adapt or perish, the human militaries are pushing the boundaries of science, trying anything to save their species, even going so far as to meld man and machine in ways never before thought possible.

Hey everyone, this is my submission for the Mini-Series Writing Jam from over in the forums (https://forums.tapas.io/t/writing-jam-mini-series-started/49769/93). The concept given was "Second Chance" and hopefully it fulfils the brief!
One day I might turn this into a full-length novel but for now I'm focussing on my main project, The End of All Things.
