Short stories are great!
And if you want to make your comic in any one style or another, that's fine. It's your comic, and you should make it the way you think works best for your style.
And yes, I know I kind of complained about the Japanese honorifics and such in Mighty, but I felt that, as an ancient Greek tale, it felt a little out of place. But even then it wasn't a big deal. Just my opinion. And in a series of oneshots, the manga style is totally fine!
