Description
Ever since anyone can remember, the outside world has been dangerous. Anything beyond the city of Glendale is considered part of the Unknown, a forest inhabited by vicious magical creatures. Inside the walls, structure and community rule everything. Those who disturb that fragile peace are given the worst punishment: being Outcast into the Unknown, with no way to survive.
Antero Cagreen has a bright future ahead. Soon, he’ll join the Knights, and give his life to protecting Glendale. Even his dearest companion, a magicless boy named Arison Rose, is starting to find a place in the world. But everything falls apart when Arison is sentenced to be Outcast. Antero has to decide what’s more important: The life he’s always dreamt of, or the selfless boy he’s sworn to protect? And when that choice lands him on an uncertain path alongside Arison, the two find themselves caught in an ancient prophecy. Now the boys must navigate through lies, danger, and perilous trials of the heart, if they want to find the truth about the Unknown, and how it relates to Arison’s otherworldly connection to a mysterious stone tower that vanishes in daylight.
