One night in Bangalore city, Michael finds himself alone at a party.
He's not sure why he's there.
He can't find anyone he knows.
He's not even sure his name is Michael.
The only thing he knows with certainty is that there's a dead animal in his backpack.
There's also something else, a scaly, carved, rock - bright orange and alive.

On the other side of town, Hassan gets off at the last metro station.
He was supposed to get off at the previous station but had fallen asleep.
He's the only passenger there.
As he walks past the ticket gate, he realises something absurd.
This station didn't exist until today morning, he was sure of it. At least not in its current form.
It wasn't scheduled to open until next month.
