Eira Prowell's school trip to London is supposed to be a normal one. But when she came across a strange and ancient book written in a language no one heard of, and be stalked by a figure from the shadows, she knows that she is the clumsiest and unluckiest person in the world to be involved in such a mess. And the wrong person to be chosen for this mission.

She had been transported to the time of the Anglo-Saxons, when Britain itself was divided into various kingdoms and the land was ruled by magic. With no idea how to return to her own time, about one thousand and five hundred years in the future, she is to fulfill three tasks that will be her ticket back home—help with the ascension to the throne, gather the greatest knights, and find the legendary Holy Grail—at the same time that she's to avoid betrayals and death traps that follow her and the subject of her calling.
