Zephyr is a peasant, but he is taken in by the Bitel family, a prominent merchant family. But it was only because of his appearance that he was shunned by everyone except the Bitel family. He is condemned for living and breathing, all because of his distinctive hair color. Fear, disgust, and finally loathing follow condemnation.

"An adopted child with no background nor any memories of his past is just dead weight, a dead child".

After being fed up with everything, Zephyr embarks on a journey to find any significance to what one calls life. Just for a single living reason, he seeks far and wide for any clues, but just to be led more astray, or closer to a purpose?

The first step in determining his purpose is to follow the trail of a necklace, found in his clothing when he was discovered by the Bitel family. The pendant is engraved with numbers that spell out "3. 12. 7. 5.".
