Description
The year is 141 N.M.L...or at least that’s the nonunanimous consensus. The truth is no records are sacred anymore. Dates, anniversaries, times of death; nearly all of them have been thrown out. Never doubt mankind's ability to lie to one another.
Shortly after the Liars war came to an end, or was at least quarantined enough for reliable records to be made again, marks started appearing across the skin of world leaders and others who carried strong wills. Each was unique to the individual, often flowing like the stroke of a paintbrush, but cut into its user with a surgical level of rigidity. The powers these markings granted their owners were equally tailored to their form, often allowing them to achieve superhuman feats and bend the world around them to their will.
These “tags” were new to humanity, but they quickly made them their own. Institutions and communities started revolving around the cultivation of them, urging people to hone the abilities and understand the applications of their tag. A “reg” gaining their own tag was seen as a right of passage for many growing men and women. And just as humans adapted to this new paradigm, their tags adapted better to them. As people changed and evolved, their tag would evolve with them and introduce them to facets of their power and their being that they never could have dreamed of. This is the dawn of a new age for humanity. Now nothing leaves them shackled to terra firma, and they are determined to reach the full extent of their potential.
...Of course, you should know by now not to trust everything that people tell you.
