The air grows thick as all the applicants watch as the doors to the tunnel open up. “And remember folks,” DJ says as he gets on a pedestal and hovers over the entrance. “You have 2 days to complete the tunnel, or until the first 30 contestants make it through the tunnel.” DJ then raises his hands in a starting position. “Ready…” All the applicants start to get ready. “Set…” Debiddo swallows in anticipation. “Gooo!..” With that DJ’s hands goes down and everyone begins to run into the tunnel. Shooting past Debiddo, a lightning bolt carrying a man on top of it. It takes the man deep inside the tunnel. “Wow, that guy is incredibly fast,” Debiddo says as he picks up his speed. “That’s a Raijin clan member for ya. Always speeding through everything.” Himawari says running past Debiddo. “I guess some people are just made for stuff like this,” Debiddo says as he sees the lightning bolt disappearing in the dark as it gets deeper in the tunnel. Only 5 minutes after running into the tunnel, Debiddo hears screaming up ahead. It was a large demon, killing two contestants.
This is when reality starts to sit in with Debiddo. Images of the demon who killed his mother and everyone in his school start to cloud his mind. Debiddo breathing gets labored. His body gets heavy and his heart starts to race. In the distance, Debiddo hears a muffled voice calling his name. “Debiddo, Debiddo!” The voice became clearer as Debiddo snaps back into reality. It was Himawari. she slaps Debiddo, waking him up from his daze. “Is this what you want?” Himawari says shaking Debiddo. “You just want to piss your pants and cry at the sight of a demon?” Debiddo then looks up at the demon. “That demon isn’t even strong. It’s something that even you can defeat. We are not even 5 minutes into the tunnel and you already look like you are ready to quit.” She then pushes Debiddo down and looks away. “If this is what you want to do then just die by this demon already and don’t come back!” Himawari then started floating in the air and then she blasts past the demon, flying away. Himawari then says to herself. “Debiddo, I know you are strong. Get up and fight. Show me the Debiddo that had all that courage and energy when we were training.” Debiddo then got up, brushed himself off, slapped his face, and then yelled. He yelled so loud that everyone in that area turned around. “Alright,” Debiddo says, refreshed. “I need to snap out of it and do this. Hima is right. I didn’t train for this long just to get killed by a demon!”
Debiddo spiritual energy starts to glow as he activates his Genki. Before Debiddo could charge in, however, a large flame comes from above his head, hitting the demon. Debiddo turns around to see that it is a man with a red and white cloak with flames coming from his feet. Debiddo looks at the man in awe as the man starts blasting fire at the demon. “HaHaHaHa! This demon isn’t tough, if anything, he is just as weak as a baby!” The man says as he continuously blasts the demon with a barrage of fire. “Wow, who is this guy?” Debiddo says as he kneels on the ground. The man then says as he stands in front of the injured demon. “Ho-musubi fighting style, Flames of Amaterasu!” The fire then turns from a bright red to a dark black and purple. The fire was so intense that the demon could take the pain anymore, and ultimately disintegrated. As the fire dies down everyone who was fighting the demon starts to cheer. “Wow, he took that demon down with no time at all!” Debiddo said still in shock from what happened. “Like seriously who is this guy?” “That guy is called Raphael Musubi.” A guy says to Debiddo as he walks up to him. “He is the next in line to become the leader of his clan. “So, his Genki is fire?” Debiddo says confused “You are not from around here are you?” The man says as he scratches his head. “Oh well, my name is Poketo Suburashii. This is my second attempt at the chaser exams.” “Second attempt?” Debiddo says puzzled. “What happened in the first attempt?” “Oh, I...kind of died…like halfway through the tunnel,” Poketo says as he laughs awkwardly. “Anyways let’s get a move on. Raphael gave us an opening, so let’s take it.” “Right!” Debiddo says as he starts running with Poketo.
Five hours have passed since entering the tower. Debiddo, Poketo, and the group that started following Raphael are now walking together. “Hey, Poketo.” Debiddo says “Call me Po, my friend.” Poketo says as he drags his feet in the dirt. “What is you Genki anyways?” Debiddo asks. “Oh, I have an elemental Genki.” Poketo says “Oh really?” Debiddo says. “What is it?” Poketo then walks up to a small hole in the ground and blasts a strong amount of steam in the hole. “Wait,” Debiddo says puzzled. “You have a steam Genki?” “Yeah,” Poketo says. “I can wield both fire and water genkis. I am a duel elemental Genki user.” “Woow” Debiddo says in awe. Out of nowhere, a large blast goes off in the distance behind Debiddo. Behind him was a large man wearing brown fur on his body with no shoes on his feet, punching a large hole within the wall of the tunnel. “HoHoHoHo,” Says the large man. “See tiny man, I told you it can be done.” “Excellent Brock, you did great.” Says Raphael patting his back. “Now we have a place to rest for a bit.” Raphael then placed his hand up and yells. “Everyone we will rest here for a few hours! We will need to build up plenty of spirit energy if we want to finish the tunnel.” With that Debiddo and everyone else head for the hole to rest. In the hole, Raphael starts a fire and sits in front of it. Everyone eventually sits around the fire with him.
“So.” Raphael says “What are you guys’ names? “My name is…” Says a man before he gets interrupted by a woman with white hair. “My name is Princess Kori Shimo of the great Shimo dynasty.” Kori continues “You guys have it in your best interest to make sure I am perfectly safe. Cause if you do, I’ll make sure every last one of you part of my royal guar…” “My name is Erick Dregnok” Erick says interrupting Kori. “My clan all have strength Genki, and we are known for our fighting skills. “Hey, I was talki…” says Kori being interrupted again. “Ah, I heard you about your clan. A very strong clan indeed!” Raphael says completely ignoring Kori. Kori then sits back and folds her arms in a pouty fit. “And what about your name young man,” Raphael says as he looks straight at Debiddo. “Well, my name is Debiddo Mobbure,” Debiddo says as he places his hand closer to the fire to keep warm. “Hmm, that name does not ring a bell. Where are you from young man?” Raphael says scratching his head. “I am from the human realm,” Debiddo responds. “Also, Stop calling me young man. I'm about to be 18 in a few months. “Oh, A Human? Over here in this plane of existence? Never in my years would I thought I would see a Hanshi in person!” Raphael says in amazement.
“Hanshi?” Debiddo says in confusion. “That what we call your race of people that are born in the human realm, but is then transported to limbo while still being alive,” Raphael explains. “Wow...That sounds...interesting” Debiddo says in a concerned tone. Debiddo then says to himself, “I feel like I am about to see a red flag. I really hope that is not the case. “So, what is your Genki Hanshi?” Raphael says. “Hanshi is worse than calling me, young man!” Debiddo screams. “Anyways, my Genki from what I experienced is light.” When debiddo says this, everyone gasped all at once. “What?” Debiddo says concerned and slightly scared. “A Hanshi like you have such a rare Genki?” Raphael says. “Yeah.” Debiddo says to Raphael “I didn’t think it would be such a big deal.” Raphael then places both of his hands on Debiddo shoulder and says, “Debiddo...The famous Hikari clan was the only known clan who had the light Genki, but they died off during the demon wars. You having this Genki means you are very rare Debiddo hahaha!” “I see I'm not a Hanshi anymore,” Debiddo says to himself. The murmurs about Debiddo being a Hanshi with a light Genki start to cease as Ralpeal continues. “So, now...” Raphael looks at Pokito. “I know your name from talking to you, but I did not know that you were a duel Genki user,” Raphael says in a disgusted tone. Poketo puts his head down in disappointment as debiddo starts to defend Poketo. “So, what is so wrong with having two genkis? Doesn’t that mean he is stronger because of it?” “Actually, it’s the opposite,” Kori says walking towards Poketo.
“Those with two genkis are way weaker than us pure Genki breeds. Kori then points to Poketo and says “It's because instead of having their spiritual energy focused entirely on their one element, their spiritual energy gets split in half due to them having to elements that they have now, making each element weaker than those who have only one element. Hohohohoho.” “Look,” Debbido says to Kori. “I don’t care about...” all of a sudden a loud roar causes the area around the group to start to shake. “I see the Demons are up now,” Raphael says as he put out his fire. “I guess it’s time to move.” Raphael then runs past Poketo as he says to him “Make sure you don’t get in my way” this makes Poketo even more down as he says, “I regret even participating this year. I really thought I could change what people thought of me. That I wasn’t an abomination. That I belonged.” Poketo then starts to think about the times when he was a kid and the other children his age was picking on him on a local playground. “My mom says that your parents made an a-bomb-in-nation(abomination).” One of the kids says mockingly “What does that mean?” another kid asks, “It means...” The first kid replies “That he stinks and will make this nation weak with his stinkiness!” “EWWW,” a group of kids says together. This made the younger Poketo cry and get into a fetal position on the ground. As Poketo relives this memory, he starts to tear up.
He curls himself back into the fetal position he did when he was a kid. As the screams of fallen contesters fill the air. “Man, this guy is a wimp.” Debiddo says “But...I kinda feel bad for him. It sounds like he had it tough. I think I gotta say something. “Hey, man you are not a wimp,” Debiddo says to Poketo patting on his back. “I never said I was a wimp” Poketo replies wiping the tears from his eyes. “Ummmm,” Debiddo says trying to think of a way to fix his mistake. “I know,” Debiddo says fixing his composure. “I’m saying you are not a wimp, so why are you crying?” Poketo looks at Debiddo who has held his hand out to him. “I saw your power first hand. It was seriously strong.” “Really?” Poketo asks. “Yes really,” Debiddo replies. Your Genki may be weak separately, However, when they are combined, they are a serious weapon!” Debiddo puts a thumb up and smiles at Poketo, which gives Poketo more motivation. “You are right Debiddo!” “That was easier than I thought it would be...” Debiddo says to himself. “Poketo aura starts to glow as he activates his Genki. “Alright, are you ready to kill these monsters and get the hell out of here?” Debiddo says to Poketo. “Yeah!” Poketo responds. “LET'S GO!” both Poketo and Debiddo say as Debiddos yellow spiritual energy and Poketo grey spiritual energy starts to spiral fast around their body.
