A cold breeze swept through the concrete jungle, kicking up leaves and littered trash in an entangled dance as though they were equals. An unlucky scratched lottery ticket was abruptly caught between blackened, bruising, purple-stained fingers as striking lavender eyes squinted and examined the item curiously. The eyes shined with a white ring around the iris, void of untainted magic, flooded with silently crackling sickening energy—energy that extended out to his twitching fingertips, which lit the ticket on fire.

He stood in front of Romanesque architecture with ornate Corinthian columns.

The sign on the building shifted before his eyes, runic symbols floating out from the existing letters, creating the phrase: The Museum of Supernatural Order. To humans, the sign read Natural Order, but to supernatural beings, it read, well, Supernatural Order. For all intents and purposes it was a museum of—magical—artifacts that was open to the general public. But just below the surface, if you looked hard enough, you could find it’s true purpose. Down in the basement of the museum was an entire city known as the Otherdark, the home of the Aptitude Academy of Occult and Arcana; in the realm of the Fae.
