Being chosen as a recipient to come enjoy the waters of the world famous 'Black Lagoon' was a once in a lifetime thing. People went crazy for the chance to be invited. They would beg, scramble or drop boatloads of money into any avenue they could think would yield a shiny golden ticket. Oftentimes, all three.
It was never quite understood how the the selection process worked.
Some people found an embossed letter in their mailbox, others had it delivered in a fancy envelope by a well dressed courier or civil servant.
Niamh and her friends weren’t sure whether they were lucky or not once they reached those ‘blessed shores’.
