A path, abandoned by the travelers who used to walk it. A forest, empty of life aside from the scattering leaves of autumn. A knight, with drawn blade, gone into the night.
It’s unclear when travelers began vanishing along the forest path, but the one certainty is that no one dares go near the cursed forest anymore. Even the lone knight, the only volunteer to find those who’d gone missing, was nothing more than another gone to the mist.
Rune knows the knight, their brother, will not return - but they believe it’s not too late. Being a prodigy of magic, they decide to use this power in a last ditch effort to at least save one person from vanishing forever. The rest isn’t their concern. Someone else can stop whatever is lurking in that forest. Rune doesn’t need to be a hero, they only need to save him...
...However, they should be more concerned with saving themself.
