Kyra blames her herself for her parents death and believes that to get forgiveness she must be chosen, like her father was, by a mystical tree to become the guardian for her village. When she fails to save her father’s animal nursery, Kyra is convinced she’s unworthy. In a desperate attempt to heal the only remaining animal, she sets out to the tree. But her estranged brother is also trying to selfishly take the tree’s power for himself. She has to truly desire the power for the right reasons, and not to appease her ego.
