The Hyperius Council was intentionally designed to regulate the use of Mana across all Earth's that exist within ones timeline. Every 150 years new members are chosen, however, when Jason has been picked it is revealed that all the previous members have died only 50 years in. He and many others were chosen out of desperation to combat one person who want's the councils attention, Indrus Asmodius.
