Skiing is one of the signature winter sports where you glide down the white slopes of mountains at a breathtaking speed. But did you know that there is another type of ‘Ski’ where you have to travel numerous kilometers while barely catching your breath and trying to overcome the pain in your thighs? “The Winter Journey” is a story about cross-country, which is nicknamed the marathon on the snow.
‘Mijin Cha’ is an athletic girl who grew up in a town on the mountains – tiny, but very very strong for her height. ‘Seulbi Kwon’ is a former Alpine skier who suffered an accident and an injury during a youth skiing competition, but is back on her feet and giving another try at cross-country. ‘Hyesun Han’ is born in a very wealthy family. She can be bossy sometimes and hard to control but she’s determined to achieve what she has set her sight on. Last but not least, there is ‘Jacob Hirscher,’ former Olympic medalist who tries to turn the three girls into a team in an Asian country that seems to carry no hope when it comes to cross-country. “The Winter Journey” is a story of our ‘new heros’ who are training hard even at this very moment in order to compete at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
