Volume 1: Fire in the sky, blood on the earth.
Chapter 1: Nightmare
In a remote region, there lived a couple.
The sun was stronger than usual that day. For most people, it would be a nuisance, but Anton loved the feeling of it burning his skin.
In the sky, an exotic creature flew with four large wings. Its feathers were red like fire, its beak curved, and its head bald like that of a sacred vulture.
Anton was running at full speed, his eyes fixed on the creature.
— WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! — shouted Aurora.
— Hunting our lunch! — Anton exclaimed, smiling.
With an acrobatic leap and a spin in the air, Anton landed on the creature’s back as if to tame it. The impact was so strong that the animal plummeted straight to the ground.
Aurora watched with crossed arms. Anton gave a wide smile as he looked at her.
Anton was a muscular man, wearing a tight black shirt and white pants that flowed like a cloak. His orange hair was tied back.
Aurora was strong as well. She wore a loose dress that left her shoulders and feet exposed, and her long blond hair fluttered in the wind.
With skill, Aurora — Aurora’s machete — sliced the creature into several pieces. Soon, the meal was on the table.
— This is really good — Anton murmured, mouth full.
Aurora just nodded, licking her lips.
— Aaah... that was really good. Time to burn off this lunch — said Aurora, stretching her arms.
— Time for a little fight — replied Anton, standing up.
Anton had taken off his shirt. Aurora, on the other hand, now wore only a band across her chest and a pair of shorts. They faced each other, smiling.
Aurora struck first, jumping with a quick kick.
Anton dodged and countered with a punch.
Aurora vanished from his sight.
The two kept exchanging blows until night fell. Then, exhausted, they went to sleep.
Anton fell asleep quickly. But that night, something disturbing awaited him.
In the dream, bodies upon bodies piled up around him. Everything reeked of death, decay, and pain.
— This is... horrible — Anton murmured.
Suddenly, the corpses began to move. They begged for help... and then consumed him.
Anton disappeared.
Waking up with a start, he got up and stepped outside to get some air.
The moon shone brightly. It was the strongest he had ever seen. But something else caught his attention.
A mysterious man was also watching the sky.
— This place is remote. Only Aurora and I live here. Who... is this guy? — Anton thought.
His whole body shivered.
The man slowly turned to face him.
He wore a cloak that covered almost everything, except his feet. His hair was split in two: half black, half white. He wore two earrings in each ear.
— Yo. My name is Zilévo — he said with a strange smile.
— Never thought someone like you would live in such a peaceful place... — I’M JEALOUS!
Zilévo raised his hands. A dark sphere began to form above him.
Anton widened his eyes.
— What...?
The sphere split into black spears and shot toward him. Anton managed to dodge them all.
— WHO ARE YOU?! WHAT DO YOU WANT?! — Anton shouted.
He ran toward the enemy, but Zilévo vanished.
— I can’t feel anything from you. But my lord, Helel, was sure that a man in this region would be a threat in the future — said Zilévo.
— Helel? You’re insane... — Anton growled, then punched Zilévo straight in the face.
— Now I felt something. But it’s still weak... could the master be wrong?
Zilévo kicked Anton, throwing him to the ground.
— Show me your power, bastard!
— You’re sick — Anton replied, panting.
— WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO MY HUSBAND?! — screamed Aurora, emerging from the darkness.
— Your wife, huh? — Zilévo smiled.
— STAY BACK, AURORA! — Anton shouted.
But it was too late.
Zilévo pierced her in the blink of an eye.
Aurora fell, spitting blood. Anton ran to her, screaming her name.
— Aurora!!
— Maybe by destroying her I can awaken your power? A man so blessed... acting like a coward — Zilévo taunted.
Anton pressed the wound, desperate.
— It’s okay... it’s okay... you’re going to be fine!
— No... — said Aurora in a weak voice. — I want at least you to live... just for yourself.
— What are you saying? I’m not leaving you!
— I’m just moving to another plane... but I’ll be with you. We’ll see each other again. I love you.
Her eyes closed softly.
— NOOOOOOO! — Anton screamed, desperate.
— I almost fell asleep here... — said Zilévo sarcastically.
— Hey... something’s coming.
The ground began to burn. The sun... seemed to fall from the sky.
— But it’s still night... — Zilévo muttered.
A massive blaze exploded around them, engulfing everything.
In the end... everything in that place was destroyed.
