Now, he’s afraid to even leave a glass of water on his nightstand, his electronics short-circuit at a touch, and a single mistake can leave him literally tarred and feathered in craft glue in the middle of a high school heist.

The only way out? Figure out exactly why his classmate, Madison, targeted him with the hex in the first place, and convince her to lift it. But navigating a magical vendetta requires strategy. To survive the hallways, Danny has to develop a strategic mindset, analyzing the school like he’s playing a high-stakes game of chess and figuring out the rules as he goes.

But as Danny plays this miserable game, he realizes he’s missing the biggest data point of all. The clues are right in front of him, but when your luck is this bad, it’s easy to be oblivious to what’s in front of you.
