After Katherine gets a message from Minnie, a friendly witch, her and Jane set out to the coast to meet up with her. When in the first night there, walking along the beach at night, she runs into a group of annoying human men, only to be helped by a mute stranger that leaves her skin tingling at his touch, she knows that she’s found her fated match.
But he doesn’t seem to understand, having lost his wolf as a kid, he can’t feel the connection they have in the same way she does.
As they find a new way to communicate, she realizes she doesn’t want to leave without him, because they’d have no means of contacting one another.
