Lucas was a kid just like the rest of us. Just another one of us. Still, everyone ended up turning away from him. Eighth grade year was the year he became a complete outcast... I know because I was there, not just by here say... And the worst part is, it could have been me. He walked a path different then most of us but... at the end of the day he was still a person just like us. And two days ago... he was no longer here. It took time and fighting I'm sure but... now he's gone... He took his own life... And all I can see is that smile I got to see years ago when he chose me over himself... and I let him. I just walked away and let him get turned against by the kids in our class. Even after he had gone out of his way to be kind to me. We weren't so different... we weren't so different at all. The only difference was... I abandoned him and he never turned his back on me.

And now... all I can think is what if? What if?
