Is there something small and simple you remember noticing while exploring outside as a child?
For me, I remember seeing a really fuzzy yellow and black caterpillar. I must have been about four years old. I don't remember anything else about what I did that day, just me in the sun crouching to watch the caterpillar climbing up a small mound of soil next to some milkweed. It had these big long tufts of fuzz in a segmented pattern and a yellowish body, and it looked really different from the smooth bodies of the monarch and striped garden caterpillars I was used to seeing. The tufts looked almost like bristles on a scrubbing brush.
