I'm finally posting this! ...Writing by the seat of my pants, one square at a time now. I hope someone enjoys it.
First Panel: Blurred dark and light green background. Black and white magpie right center. The magpie says “Hello again. Remember me? Sweetbriar the magpie!"
Second Panel: Sweetbriar flies over a small woodland area with trees and small homes. Sweetbriar says “I may not look like any magpie you’ve ever seen, but don’t you worry about that.”
Third Panel: Sweetbriar is sitting on a spoked metal display shelf with two green gourd birdhouses hanging from it, secured outside a window looking into a home inside a tree. Sweetbriar says to herself, “Here we are!”
Third Panel: Sweetbriar is sitting on a spoked metal display shelf secured outside a window looking into a home inside a tree. There is a green gourd birdhouse and a yellow gourd birdhouse hanging from the spokes. Sweetbriar says to herself, “Here we are!”
Fourth Panel: Dark purple and light purple background. Sweetbriar is sitting on the horn of a sleeping mottled brown faun with darker brown hair, that she had spied through the window. Sweetbriar says, “I am simply NOT like any magpie you’ve seen.”
Fifth Panel: Sweetbriar has turned into black and white dust and with a Poof! has entered the head/mind of the sleeping faun.
Sixth Panel: The faun, who is still sleeping, mumbles, “Go away. I’m busy.” His partially opened mouth reveals small, sharp teeth.
Woodwose Valley is a fantasy about a magpie, magical bards, elves on a mission from Bob, a hyperfocused meastro, a teapot spirit, and the color pink. LGBTQIA2S+ positive, and written by a neurodivergent, narcoleptic potato. Updates on Fridays.
