What was once a single-celled organism feeding on light and cell-copied flesh, succumbed to neglect and considered a failed
project; it now walks amongst the oblivious citizens with many faces.

Grown into heaps of flesh and morphing into a physical shape once left alone by the government, A sympathetic doctor, once
part of the project back in time, falling to sympathies for the clump of cells that had grown a childlike eye full of wonder in its
test tube - It grew a chance at life.

Bodies with nerve endings, brains capable of developing feeling and thinking, of dreaming.
Copying a subspecies of humans based on the synthetic cells it had eaten and those of the doctor's hand.
Now, the first cell in a bigger pod had grown up to be an accomplished man with owl-like features - He merges in society
seamlessly but still ever so learning how a human mind should work, ever adapting and evolving.
The old doctor, now having fed his knowledge to his adopted child, ‘Yme,’ formerly the clump of cells with a single eye of
wonder.

Having promised that Yme would not evolve himself further into a superhuman, using his abilities for nothing but good, nor
clone himself, the doctor granted him free access to life.

Yet, as Yme integrates into society, his longing for connection and meaning grows. The hivemind of his origin, Project Y, had
never left.

Now, he stands at a crossroad, will he honour his promise to his old man, his father figure, or seek what he wants?
