After annoying the wizard council one too many times, Salita -the newly elected mayor of a tiny fishing village - finds himself in the precarious position of either forming an illegal contract with a demon, or, well, dying in a ditch.

Contracts come at a cost, however, and now Salita and Caedis, the demon lucky enough to get offered Salita’s soul, must deal with the unfortunate consequences of their deal. And the looming threat of the council. And the fact they can’t stand each other.
