A shadow hunter named Shae who is sent on a high-profile mission to Occidendum, New York. His mission is to hunt as many humans as he can, and to report back to his guild with the spoils when needed. The rules of this mission (and most other missions) are to keep relationships and communications with humans to a minimum. Usually, Shae is great at following the rules of his missions.

Shae sets out in this city ready to hunt and kill as many humans as he possibly can in hopes of bringing riches to he guild, but is stopped dead in his tracks when he meets a human who has more to them than just their looks.
