Throughout the existence of mankind, people have had familiars in the form of their spirit animals. But the trends in the frequency of appearance of familiars were different at different times and the form they took was different too. For example, in the Middle Ages, people were not particularly concerned with self-awareness and were interested in issues of survival, so there were few familiars and more often they appeared among those who were called witches.
And in Antiquity, people could not associate themselves with animals and generally did not see in them anything in common with a great and powerful man. So familiars often took the form of people - only among completely out-of-touch thinkers like the cynics they were, for example, dogs.

Our hero is an ordinary boy born in our time and he creates his own unique destiny
