Is there a reason why you haven’t resumed Santan Ninja for quite some time?

Whoa! We hit 200 subscribers on Halloween! Rad! I'd post a spooky Satan Ninja Halloween picture to celebrate, but Jessica ended up being too busy to make one this year (but you can click here to check out an old one: https://satanninja.com/sites/satanninja.com/files/images/blog/sn_halloween-2014_70q.jpg

Instead, I'll post an image that SN8X artist Jessica Safron drew for Grim October, the coming-of-age supernatural horror novel we just released. It's set in 1989, and is a little like Stranger Things, but with more sex, heavy metal, and Halloween fun. You can check it out here: https://www.amazon.com/Grim-October-World-Book-ebook/dp/B01MCZMS9C/

We hope you all have a super radical and spooky Halloween!

Rad!
I still can't believe how few subscribers you have on tapastic, but I guess that's just because only the chosen ones can handle the awesomeness of Satan Ninja. Stay radical, dudes!

I think you're on to something, Gleb. This comic's a strange beast that only the most awesome people seem to really get. I'm curious to see if anyone at Tapastic is a rad enough dude to make us a staff pick.

We have a question for you dudes: what category do you think we should list Satan Ninja 198X under at Tapastic? At first, we had it under Comedy, but since it's story-driven as opposed to a gag-strip style comic, we switched it to Fantasy. But that might be misleading to people who are looking for a more traditional D&D/Lord of the Rings style fantasy comic.

SN8X is a sort of mishmash with elements of comedy/horror/drama/fantasy/sci-fi/action, so it's really hard to classify on a site like this. What do you think?

I think drama might be good, seeing as it's very story-driven, which best suits the category. Plus it's a fairly generalized label, so it encompasses all/most of the elements you've got going on.

When I think of a drama story, I don't picture something like Satan Ninja. You're right in that it's very story driven and there's definitely some of that classic '80s teen drama in the comic, but I'd imagine that SN8X is too fun and comedic and light-hearted for people looking for "real" drama.

The action genre is definitely a possibility. But I kind of have the opposite concern that I had with the drama genre, in that I wonder if action fans would be annoyed by the teen drama stuff and think that there's not enough real action.

Man, it's tough not fitting neatly into a single category.

Nope, just one.

Since this is a web-comic about a teen who transforms into a ninja through satanic powers that come from a undead wizard, It seem like it makes the most sense to put into the Fantasy section.

That was exactly my thinking, Citrus. But I talked with Jessica (the artist) about it and she thinks Action seems like the right home for it, so we'll try that out.
