Hi everyone! I just want to let you know that I'll be taking a break from updating TLOS for about a month. I've considered doing so for a while, and at this point in the story, I think it's the most beneficial thing to do.
The past year or so has been really stressful for a variety of reasons. Things are on the mend, but because of that, I got behind on writing. I tried taking small breaks, and I also changed the update schedule a while ago (going from 4 episodes/week to 2) but I was never able to actually catch up. I realized that I now need to take some time to work on future episodes as a whole, and especially on the ending.
I’ll be taking an update break until the end of March. I'm sorry for those of you who are reading the episodes as they come out, and I hope the wait doesn't feel too long. But, it will be worth it! I am extremely grateful for all of you reading, and enjoying TLOS. See you again soon!
- As I mentioned before, TLOS will no longer have a Tapas editor, so I'll be uploading all new episodes myself, and I'll have to edit myself (which is always tricky, but I'll do my best). The first episode in this situation is 164: Attachments.
- I mentioned in an author's note that I wanted to make future episodes free because, with the changes, I thought it would be better. However, it seems that on the Premium program, I'm not allowed to just publish free episodes, so they'll remain paid.
- The update schedule will be 1 episode twice a week. Since I now have to upload everything myself, and each episode has to go under review before it is published (it takes 1-2 days to get approved), there might be some variability in the schedule, but I'll try to stick to that.
I've thought about it a lot, and I decided to keep TLOS in the Premium program. Most of it has already been edited by staff already, and I want to be able to keep the cover, haha. To be honest, even though I'm not thrilled by the changes concerning Premium novels, I still feel like Tapas is the best platform for my novels in terms of genres and community. I'll see what I do for future novels, but for now, unless there are further major changes, I'll keep it like that for TLOS.
Hi everyone, if you've read the latest two episodes of TLOS, you know that there are some changes that are/will be taking effect concerning Premium novels. By the end of August, I will no longer be assigned an editor to help out with editing the episodes, and uploading them for publication. I'm not sure exactly when this will take effect, but I'll keep an eye on it so that it doesn't disrupt the updates too much.
ETA: Just wanted to add that I'm really grateful for the editors who have helped me until now with my stories. All the Tapas staff I've ever been in contact with have been nothing but helpful from the start, so I'm really sad I won't get to work with them anymore!
Hi everyone, sorry there was no update yesterday (Tuesday) for TLOS! There was a little confusion with the new material I sent, but there should be an update tomorrow.
Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know that the update schedule for The Lost One Speaks is going to change starting tomorrow (June 9): there will now be 2 new episodes per week instead of 4 (one on Tuesday and one on Thursday).
As we’re getting closer to the end -- slowly but surely -- I’m more careful about resolving the various subplots. This means that I’m taking more time to write chapters, and so I’ve been having a harder time keeping up with the schedule. That said, even though I’m having to slow down doesn’t mean I’m not excited about what’s to come, quite the opposite. I feel like the stakes have just been getting higher and higher for Christine, so I can’t wait to show you what happens next.
Hi everyone! I know some of you have been wondering when the Premium version of The Lost One Speaks would catch up with the free version, so I have some update. The chapter number that corresponds to where the series left off previously should correspond to 115 in the Premium version (I don't think it's been uploaded yet, but it should be soon). There have been a few changes to the story, so if you’re feeling confused, feel free to send me a private message.
I’ve been a little MIA while I was working on this and the next batch of chapters, so I’m catching up on comments. Sorry I haven’t been more present. It’s great coming here and reading your thoughts on the story; which characters you like, and what are your theories!
Thanks to all of you who are keeping up with TLOS, who are just joining, or returning!
TLOS has already found so many new readers since its launch! I’m not only amazed that the story has gained so many subscribers, but I'm also grateful for the “likes” and comments you’ve been leaving! I love reading your comments, whether you’re dropping by to say “hello”, or leaving your reflections on the story.
I wrote a few words on my blog about the process of writing TLOS. If you’re interested, have a look: https://themonsterofjuly.wordpress.com/2021/12/15/the-lost-one-speaks-2/
I was also wondering whether you’d like to have a “Special Q&A”? I would answer any spoiler-free questions about TLOS and its characters. Let me know!
Hi everyone! The Lost One Speaks is going live today, at 10:30am PST! This story has been such an exciting project that pushed my creativity to its limits, and I’m so happy that it’s finally launching!
I love how the cover turned out, the artist did a great job portraying Christine and Tara (I think her frown is "on pointe"). Also, I’m really grateful for the editors who worked with me to get this story ready for the launch.
Whether you’re a new or long-time reader, I hope you enjoy this novel.
And now, let the show begin!
Bunny
PS: If you were up to date with the episodes before the launch, I’ll let you know when the episodes catch up. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
Hi everyone! I wanted to check in with you about The Lost One Speaks, in case you’ve been reading but aren’t up to date with the latest episodes and author’s notes. Months ago, the novel was accepted into the Premium program on Tapas and for the past several weeks, a great team has been working on getting the series ready for the launch, which is scheduled this month. I’m really happy to see where this is all going and I’m amazed at how helpful everyone has been from the start!
This is a heads up that the episodes are going to start to be taken down in the next few days to be replaced with the new ones. If you haven’t caught up yet and want to do so, now is the time!
Thank you all for reading, and I hope to see you in the newer, improved story!
**Update (Nov. 11): Launch date is now scheduled for December 8!
Hi everyone! I want to share with you an amazing fanart of Nicolas someone made after reading Let the Dark Crow Sleep. It’s called “The crow who got away”. I think it beautifully captures Nicolas’s inner turmoil. If you like this work, check out Lex Lewcid’s website and Instagram!
