Kura stared at the brunch table's spread of food. Everything from lobster, to corn, to rice, to trout and even french bread was on the table with many sauces and drinks. There were several pieces of silverware that he wasn't accoustomed to and even napkins and fancy goblets.
Rindou and the others were happily serving themselves the food and starting to eat. Kura was stuck sitting next to Rindou. He watched what the prince gathered and carefully tried to grab similar items.
"So... you eat like this all the time?" Kura asked softly, looking at his plate of nearly foreign foods.
Rindou nodded, "Yup. You've never hand any of this?"
"I know what it is but I've never had it..."
"Try it! It's delicious!" Rindou smiled and started to eat from his plate.
Kura looked up and watched the bodyguards practically inhaling their food and then to Rindou who was eating with some class. They were like completely different eating habits, it didn't make sense to Kura. He was sure everyone in that sort of class ate well classy.
After a few minutes he carefully tried some of the lobster. "Hmm... This isn't bad," he mumbled and tried some of the corn and bread he had gathered. Everything went well until he saw what there was to drink. Only wine and he was unable to hold it that well.
"You don't like wine," Rindou asked, taking a drink of his red wine. "I thought everyone liked wine!"
"Of course I like wine!" Kura said defensively and poured himself some red wine. He took it, smelt it and felt like sneezing but quickly downed the entire glass. "See? I like wine!" Rindou laughed and started to eat his food again.
A good ten minutes later for the walk around the village to see what was for sale at the Sunday bazaar, Kura was holding his head from the headache. It had been too much wine for the teenager, and soon he drifted away from Rindou to look for a well to get some water from.
Rindou didn't notice the absense of Kura for a good thirty minutes. When he did he panicked and looked everywhere for Kura. He sighed with relief when he saw the flustered teen sitting next to a well carefully getting his face wet with the water from the pail. Kura drank a little bit here and there but mainly wanted his face cool.
By one, Rindou was sitting next to Kura. He had helped him into the bed Rindou had slept in the night before and tucked him in. "You should have told me you can't handle wine. I would've gotten you some juice."
"I wanted to impress you." Kura answered, closing his eyes.
"You did?" Rindou asked, nearly in shock. "...Why?"
"I want to understand you better." Kura replied softly. "If I'm going to marry you, I should know something about you... Right?"
Rindou nodded slowly, not understanding fully at first. "Right.. You just sleep."
