Kura sighed, looking out across the deep crimson horizon as the sunset began to fall on the land. "So... What's it like there? In the desert.."
"Well." Rindou thought hard. "It's of course hot during the day. But it has cold nights. And when the moonlight shines just right you can spot the prettiest white sparkles covering the sand at night."
"Snow?"
Rindou shrugged, "Dunno. There's bandits outside of the town's walls so no one ventures out at night. It's the time of day when we're most vunerable to attack."
Kura nodded, riding behind Rindou on Champion, back to the Village. "You ever seen snow?"
"Nope."
"You ever want to?"
"Nah," Rindou shook his head. "I like hot things better than cool."
"Too much heat can kill you know."
"NO WAY!!" Rindou answered, honestly shocked. "Then what's too much cold to do you?!"
"Stop your heart." Kura answered. "The heat makes your entire body temperature heat up completely."
Rindou pulled at Champion's reigns to stop and turned to look at Kura. "How do you know that?"
"I've been all over the continent." Kura replied, smiling. "Don't tell me you plan to be ruler without getting to know the people."
"Well I uh.. I just.."
"Never thought you'd have to deal with 'commoners'?" Kura asked with an odd smile.
Rindou nodded, "Yeah. I mean commoners are such... They act weak all the time and work so hard for so little. I don't understand the point of it. I mean we don't have taxes and life where I live is cheap but still they complain and moan! It's stupid how they go on like that."
Kura blinked, "So, you don't like someone who complains about their situation?" Rindou nodded, fully set on his answer. Kura frowned in anger and hit Rindou on the back of the head. "Then I guess a commoner like me is useless to choose!" Kura jumped off Champion and started to walk away.
Rindou blinked, stunned. It took him a second to realize what happened. "H-hey! Wait just a minute, Kura! I didn't mean it like that!" He gestured for Champion to walk after Kura.
Kura turned to Rindou, walking backwards. "Yes you did. You haven't worked for anything in your life so you automatically assume that it's not okay to complain about how hard your life is! You say commoners are just weak and stupid for working so hard for so little- well you know what? We work so hard so that we can have something to value- it's called Treasure."
"Treasure?" Rindou blinked, and waved his hand for Kura to stop. "What's this 'treasure'?"
"If you have to ask, then you don't have it." Kura shook his head.
"I don't? Do I want it? What is it?!"
"You'd know if you had it." Kura answered, "Admit it- you feel like something's missing, right?"
"Yes." Rindou nodded. "That thing is the love of my life- You."
Kura shook his head. "I might be the love of your life but I'm not Treasure." He turned and started back to the village at a quick pace.
"He-hey!" Rindou pouted, "Tell me what it is then!"
"Figure it out yourself!"
