Rindou sighed as the time to sleep came upon him. He began to remember the day's events.
His memory flashed to when he and Kura entered the old elevator and went high up into the sky.
"Wow!" Rindou gasped, looking around them, "We're pretty high up!"
"Scared?"
"NO!" Rindou answered quickly. He walked away from the edge and watched as Kura shook his head and walked up onto a stone dais. "...uh Kura..?"
"Shh," Kura replied, standing in the center on a signet. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Oracle! I call thy forth!"
A flash of light and stones came up and held Kura's feet in place firmly. "You have naught right." came a woman's voice from the sky.
"Please!" Kura asked again, "I have Treasure!"
"Present."
Kura unzipped his sweatshirt and tossed it back to Rindou. Rindou blinked, walking around to see Kura's bare chest and not just his back. He gasped as he saw a ruby planted where Kura's bellybutton should be.
A light flashed and a woman floated down. "You have it." she said with approval. "I am Amphitra. What is it you seek?"
"Azrael, the Hero," Kura replied.
The woman nodded, her long white hair flowing around her gown as her body hovered above the ground. "It will be painful."
"I am ready."
A loud clap of thunder sounded causing Amphitra to look around nervously. "Not here. Your duty will be fulfilled north, where the tower is covered with a white blanket that keeps you cold, but not death. Go there and we shall see your worth."
In a white blinding flash Amphitra was gone and the stones holding Kura to the dais vanished. Kura shifted his feet a bit before walking back to grab his jacket.
Rindou had a sad look on his face, "Kura... Why didn't you tell me that was Treasure..?"
"You wouldn't have believed me even if I had told you," Kura answered with a smile as he took his jacket and pulled it on.
"Yeah..." Rindou nodded, "But still, to have to hide it like you did..?"
"It's all I can do." Kura replied and started to the elevator as he zipped up his jacket to once again hide the wonderful stone.
"What do you mean?" Rindou asked as he followed Kura.
Kura shrugged, "The stone is my life."
"Huh?"
"........You'll find out."
The next morning, Rindou sat awake with a loud yawn. He sniffed and rubbed his red numb nose, "Where are we?"
"Almost to Aclotz," the old man answered.
Rindou looked around him, seeing Kura starting to awaken from the cold air also. "It's covered in snow!" Rindou whined.
"It's the north." the man replied.
Rindou grumbled, "I hate the snow.."
"Anyone would if they grew up in a hot desert," Kura said as he woke up.
"Morning!" Rindou smiled, "You sleep good?"
"Mm-hmm."
