Here we meet Eddie's core cast of friends, minus "Psycho" Sam. I actually wrote a lot more dialog than this in my original script for this issue, but we had to trim it way down or Eddie and his friends would've been chatting for way too many pages. I wasn't used to how limited dialogue space is when writing a comic.
You might notice that the arcade games and the posters in the background never existed in reality. Jessica and I decided that in the alternate universe where the comic takes place (the SN8X-verse), instead of featuring real-life products and celebrities, we'd feature parody versions of them. Sometimes our parody combines elements from multiple real-life '80s products. We felt that would be more fun and interesting than making direct references.
An (NSFW) action-comedy urban fantasy comic illustrated by Jessica Safron and written by Adam Dravian and Jessica Safron. It's inspired by radical 1980’s media, mostly movies, but also video games, cartoons, anime, heavy metal music, and the “satanic panic” of the era.
It's kind of like a comic book adaptation for the greatest '80s movie that never existed.
