Back at the clinic, Igor was locking the door just as the coach stopped across from them and Prometheus exited. He looked dreadful with his left sleeve missing and his forearm covered in bandages. Ghost remained perched on his opposite shoulder looking like she had seen an actual ghost. Igor’s jaw dropped as he dropped his things and Prometheus walked over to him with a shaken yet stern look on his face.

“Igor, we need to talk. Now.” he told the hunchback who broke out of his trance and picked up his things.

“W-What happened?!” Igor shakily asked as he unlocked the door and turned on the light.

“It was exactly like Miranda told me, but worse and it only got worse, Igor. Lord Stein had lost his mind and only wanted to eat meat constantly whether is was cooked or raw. He even tried to eat PEOPLE and then tried to go after Ghost which... got him killed.” Prometheus explained while showing his bandaged arm.

“WHAT?!” Igor gasped.

“It wasn’t on purpose. He was so crazed and fixated on trying to catch her that he jumped over the ledge. I’m not even sure how long he had as he was. He was changing and didn’t even look human in the end. Let alone act like it. At first, you could see his arteries glow green here and there, his skin was only slightly green, and his eyes had turned green. Also, his teeth were a bit bigger and sharper, and his nails were turning black and claw like. Next, he got worse in just a minute. His skin became entirely green, his eyes became like lanterns, his teeth became fangs, and he was as strong as me! If Ghost wasn’t there, he would have ripped my face off patch by patch!” Prometheus explained.

Igor sat down as the colour drained from his face “W-What kind of disease does that?”

“I don’t think it was a disease. I checked myself and the other person he bit. I even checked everyone else at the Stein estate. We all came up clean. Miranda also informed me that the Stein family doesn’t have any history of having hereditary diseases either. However, he did undergo that miracle treatment that is all the rage now and he started craving meat fanatically since.” Prometheus went on as he sat down too while stroking Ghost’s back.

Igor thought about it “I have heard that new treatments especially supposed ‘miracle’ ones that involve body modification tend to have nasty side effects, but I’ve never heard of them doing... THAT.”

Prometheus pursed his lips for a moment “I have also never seen a treatment that involves replacing your arm with someone else’s. Lord Stein’s right arm had been replaced with Mark’s!”

“That’s impossible! You can’t take someone else’s arm and put it on someone else... I think... can you?” Igor scratched his head in confusion as medical facts did indeed back up his original claim, but right in front of him was a man who was a walking flesh quilt.

“I am positive that he had Mark’s arm. It had the same birthmark and scar in the exact same places, Igor.” Prometheus insisted.

Igor rubbed his face looking pale and sweaty “So based on what you’re telling me... someone took Mark’s arms and they wound up in the hands of the guy doing the miracle treatments which means body modification involves replacing your body parts with someone else’s. Has a case like Lord Stein’s happened before though? I haven’t heard anything, Prom.”

“Neither have I, but this doctor has also been treating people all over Europe and only recently came to Germany.” Prometheus replied.

“Maybe it rarely happens, or Lord Stein was the first case. It could also be that the people who took the arms tainted them with something.” Igor theorized.

“It could also be that the doctor is the mastermind behind everything and has been covering up the deadly cases.” Prometheus rubbed his chin as Ghost sat on his lap.

“Maybe we should tell the police so they can investigate it.” Igor suggested.

“That would be useless because we have no proof. When Lord Stein died, he melted along with Mark’s arm.” Prometheus sighed.

“This just keeps getting better...” Igor groaned.

Prometheus thought for a moment “I wish I could have a talk with William...”

“I think it’s for the best that you can’t, Prom. We’re doctors not detectives. Besides, this entire situation is insane.” Igor advised.

“Igor, my patient literally had his arms stolen and my other one died today with one of those arms because he received counterfeit treatment. As doctors, it is our duty to find out why all that happened and hold this crooked doctor accountable." Prometheus stood up causing Ghost to hop off his lap and onto the side table.

“I don’t know, Prom...” the hunchback hesitated.

Prometheus put a hand on his shoulder “Igor, what if this happens again? Chances are, it will.”

Igor looked up at him sympathetically before removing his hand “Prom, your heart is in the right place and it’s one of the reasons we’re friends, but I think it’s best not to delve into this.”

“Igor-” Prometheus began, but his friend lifted his hand.

“As for William, he was just a patient, Prom. Don’t say anything to him you wouldn’t to any other one and only if you cross paths again.” Igor turned around and started walking towards the door.

Prometheus bit his lip before confessing “Igor I KNOW William!”

Igor stopped and turned around.

“I don’t remember him entirely, but I know him. I remember him as a child. He was abused then too, Igor. I think we were friends. Maybe even family.” Prometheus confessed further.

Igor now turned around completely “... Is that THE reason you lied to Mr. Eldrich?”

“Yes. Igor, William is linked to my identity which means all this is linked to me too. Am I a victim of the treatment too back when it was in the prototype phase? Was I in on it? Were my memories erased on purpose?” Prometheus went on.

“Prom, this changes everything, but... do you really want to know?” his friend asked.

“Do you have any idea what it’s like to have forgotten your whole life? I could have had a family that depended on me for all I know. Maybe William himself depended on me and my absence put him in this position if he is involved. I NEED to know, Igor! I need to know.” Prometheus explained.

Igor looked at Ghost who looked back at him with sadness, then relented sighing “Agatha always makes a file for a patient just in case he needed a follow up, Prom. Emergency ones aren’t the exception. He’s your patient anyway, so you’re not breaching anything by reading up on him.”

“Thank you, Igor.” Prometheus smiled.

Igor left and came back with William’s file in hand “You do realize I’d only do this for you and even then, don’t do something reckless, ok?”

“I won’t, Igor.” Prometheus took the file and opened it.

When he read William’s full name, his heart jumped up to his throat and he dropped it staggering back while hyperventilating. He grabbed onto the metal chair and wound up crushing it slightly.

“Prometheus! Get a hold of yourself!” Igor came over and helped catch his breath.

“... F-Frankenstein...” Prometheus wheezed.

“Yeah. William Frankenstein. That’s his name. Do you remember more now?” Igor was concerned.

“I remember someone else now.... VICTOR Frankenstein.” Prometheus admitted with his eyes burning with rage “Igor... I think he did this to me!”

Prom knew William as a child...but isn't William a child? Or a young teen? I'm mildly confused.

Though it could be his memories are distorted since it's possible he knew Victor and Victor is the doctor that did all this...and and and...

Fuck, I really thought I was gonna get some sleep tonight...

Dr. Prometheus is an amnesiac who's earliest memory only dates back three years. He has the appearance of a ragdoll, the strength of twenty men, a heart of gold and extensive medical and surgical knowledge which he uses to help the sick and injured regardless of social standing. One day, Prof. Victor Frankenstein, the man who is most likely responsible for Prometheus' mental and physical, comes into town to share his wonder treatment with anyone rich enough to afford it, but along with it, strange and terrifying things start happening which Prometheus will not stand for. In doing so, he slowly remembers his dark past and the darker truth about himself...
