I’ve undergone body modification Frankenstein’s way, but I’m not mutating, nor do I require anti-lifeblood baths. My blood’s not even acidic. Neither was that monster’s from the lab and it remained alive despite everything... However, it’s possible my days are numbered and that’s enough. That means I must act now.

Once at his home, Prometheus immediately went to his study which was also his home lab. He looked around and then took a huge suitcase along with his usual doctor’s bag. He started filling them with the equipment he would need to perform some experiments with Igor.

I need to find a cure so no one else becomes one of those things. I don’t know if there’s any saving me if I am indeed condemned, but like Mr. Eldrich said, I have an oath I swore to. Victor will NOT escape justice.

Prometheus was so lost in thought that as he carried his big suitcase, he stepped on Ghost’s toy mouse and stumbled. He bumped into the mirror that hung on the wall cracking it into multiple sections.

“Oops... Aw...” Prometheus gasped out loud looking at the broken mirror in frustration, but upon close inspection... he realized that in each broken section, his reflection looks off.

He was not looking at himself as he was. In each section, there was a different man looking back at him. He stepped back rubbing his eyes and then looked again. Everything was now normal.

My lack of sleep is catching up to me...

He had no time to worry about the mirror or what he thought he saw, so he picked up the suitcase and his medical bag while allowing Ghost to perch on his shoulder. Just when he was about to go through the door, the telephone rang. He looked at it with a bad feeling at the pit of his stomach, but still felt compelled to answer it.

“Hello?” Prometheus replied.

“Dr. Prometheus? Is that you? We have an emergency here.” a frightened woman replied.

“Yes. How may I help?” Prometheus replied in his usual gentle tone feeling somewhat relieved that it was only a potential patient.

“It’s Ingrid from the Parcel family. My master and mistress have that sickness that makes people act beastly I heard rumors about. They raided the kitchen eating all the meat and now... they’ve moved onto eating the staff!” Ingrid whispered in a frightened tone.

Prometheus dropped his doctor’s suitcase feeling sick “Is little Rose alright?!”

“Yes. The first thing I did was tell her to lock herself up in her room and stay hidden. Come here quickly before the master and mistress- No... Mr. Parcel, please... No! NO!! AIEEEEEEEEE!!” Ingrid screams were gradually drowned out by the sounds of two wild beasts attacking.

Prometheus quickly telephoned Albert “Hello, Albert. I’m going to be a bit late. There’s an emergency at Mr. and Mrs. Parcel’s house. They’re patients of Frankenstein and have mutated. I must save their daughter Rose!”

“What?! Wait, Prometheus-” Albert could only get in.

Prometheus closed the telephone so hard he crushed it and rushed to the Parcel’s house which thankfully, was not far away at all. He knocked on the door calling for someone to open, but there was no answer. Just silence. Fearing the worst, Prometheus kicked down the door breaking it off its hinges and making it fall on the floor with a loud thud. The hallway was in complete disarray with things knocked over as well as bloody shoe prints on the floor and bloody handprints and smears on the walls. He began searching all over the manor for anyone left alive, but it was fruitless. He found the other maid Ida on the stairs lying dead with a huge hole in her back while the cook laid in the kitchen with his head missing. Ingrid was in the study with her stomach and throat hollowed out with the telephone still in hand. In several other rooms, he found what remained of the two butlers and the gardener. Prometheus noticed the glass back door had been shattered leading to the gardens and maze where the family hounds roamed. He could hear the very faint sounds of frantic barking and snarls which made him wince.

I’m sorry, hound. I can still save Rose though.

Prometheus then checked upstairs and thankfully, Rose’s bedroom door was still locked and untouched. He held his breath for a moment while knocking.

“Rose? It’s Dr. Prometheus.” he spoke very quietly while making sure the coast was still clear.

“Dr. Prometheus? Are you here to help mommy and daddy?” Rose meekly asked behind the door.

“I’ll try to, but first, I need to help you. It’s dangerous here and we need to leave.” Prometheus asked her.

The door clicked and Rose opened it looking scared still “What about mommy and daddy?”

“I’ll come back for them with help.” he said as he got down on one knee “Rose, I need to be very quiet, so your parents don’t-”

Prometheus was cut off from his words when Rose screamed at what was behind him.

He looked at saw in was Mrs. Parcel in the final stage of mutation and grabbed her as she tried to attack “GET BACK IN YOUR ROOM!!”

Just as the little girl was about to, her father lunged at the door and knocked her over. He got up and snarled at her revealing that he reached the final mutation too. He was about to pounce on Rose, but Prometheus tackled him away. Rose scrambled away under her bed whimpering as the creature-doctor wrestled both her parents at once. Ghost flopped down and joined the child under the bed. Despite his resilience and strength, fighting two mutated people at once was hard. They tore through his shirt until it was just shreds hanging on him and he had scratches and bites all over his arms, torso and shoulder. He even had a gash on his face. Catching a glimpse of Rose peeking out under the bed, he accepted what he had to do with a heavy heart.

“Forgive me...” he winced as he broke Mrs. Parcel’s neck killing her.

He allowed her limp body to fall onto the floor and disintegrate leaving only her outline behind. His heart broke when he realized Rose had seen that, but he had no time to take that in. He now had to stop Mr. Parcel, but when he tried to grab him, he stabbed his thigh with his long claws. Prometheus howled in pain as he fell on one knee releasing Mr. Parcel. The creature-doctor's opponent then bit down onto his shoulder. Prometheus hollered in pain while trying to get him off as they rolled on the ground wrestling. When he finally managed to pull Mr. Parcel off, he kicked him in the abdomen causing him to soar across the room and knock over Rose’s drawing desk. Mr. Parcel tried to get up, but his leg had been broken awkwardly and his blood was burning the floor. Despite that, he noticed Rose hiding under the bed and began to drag himself towards her. Prometheus quickly grabbed the scissors from the floor and stabbed him in the head killing him. Once his body disintegrated, the doctor panted heavily while holding his wounded shoulder. His exhaustion and wounds caught up to him.

“R-Rose... I’m sorry...” he wheezed as he leaned against the wall and collapsed onto the floor.

“D-Dr. Prometheus?” Rose whimpered while coming out of hiding with Ghost.

“I’m so sorry, but... those weren’t your parents anymore... Their souls had... already... left...” Prometheus’ vision became blurry.

“Dr. Prometheus? Dr. Prometheus?!” Rose voice began to sound drowned out and faint as his whole world went black.

Dr. Prometheus is an amnesiac who's earliest memory only dates back three years. He has the appearance of a ragdoll, the strength of twenty men, a heart of gold and extensive medical and surgical knowledge which he uses to help the sick and injured regardless of social standing. One day, Prof. Victor Frankenstein, the man who is most likely responsible for Prometheus' mental and physical, comes into town to share his wonder treatment with anyone rich enough to afford it, but along with it, strange and terrifying things start happening which Prometheus will not stand for. In doing so, he slowly remembers his dark past and the darker truth about himself...
