Prometheus walked down a dimly light hall with mirrors. Each one was adorned with a frame made up of tools, weapons or various other strange objects. What was truly disturbing is that every time Prometheus would stop to look at a mirror, he would see a different man varying in age or social standing. At the end of the hall was another mirror though this one was dirty. He began attempting to clean it, but as he did, it shattered. Prometheus knelt picking up the pieces attempting to make out the reflection he would see in them, but he could not get a full image. He then noticed someone behind him. It was Victor Frankenstein. Specifically, a younger version of himself before he applied body modification on him smiling wickedly. Behind Victor were William and Elizabeth being held back by several dark and demonic looking arms.

“L-Let them go!” Prometheus commanded.

“They belong to me.” Victor mocked.

Prometheus just frowned and attempted to run towards William and Elizabeth, but he was suddenly strapped down to an operating table “Elizabeth! William!”

He helplessly watched the two of them get dragged into the darkness as Victor brandished a gun and laughed before firing.

“NO!!” Prometheus hollered as he bolted upright so hard that he wound up breaking apart the hospital bed he was lying on.

The nurses and even the other patient he shared a room with looked at him as he sat on the floor on top of what remained of his bed. Prometheus grinned sheepishly as his face turned into multiple shades of pink.

“Now, now. If it wasn’t for his strength, he would not have been able to save the girl.” Dr. Fisher walked in urging the nurses to carry on while helping Prometheus up.

“Rose! Is Rose Parcel alright?!” Prometheus suddenly recalled.

“She is thanks to you and it’s thanks to her that you’re here. She called the ambulance. Her parents, rest their souls, taught her well. She told me about what you had to do.” Dr. Fisher informed him.

Prometheus hung his head.

“It was the only way. Whatever that disease is, once the patient has reached stage three, they are, from what we all observed, lost. We had another case.” Dr Fisher confessed while putting his hand on his shoulder.

“What?" Prometheus looked up.

Dr. Fisher shook his head “We attempted to bring a woman here after her husband called us. When help arrived, she had already eaten her family and attacked, so...” he did not want to continue talking “Anyway, you seem to being doing quite well. All you had were minor scratches and bites.”

“Minor?” Prometheus recalled that he was covered in blood and even feared that his leg had been fractured from being cut into.

“You didn’t even need stitches. I cannot blame you for fainting after experiencing such a traumatizing situation.” Dr. Fisher went on.

Prometheus looked at himself in the mirror noticing how few bandages he had and even the ones he wore were quite small.

Am I mutating is some way? Or is it something else? I don’t have Hedonist’s Stone carrier’s symptoms though. I don’t even crave meat. I don’t look different....

Prometheus’ thoughts were interrupted when he heard a familiar flapping and hooting. Ghost shot through the open door and landed right into Prometheus’ arms embracing him with her wings while nuzzling and hooting.

“Hey, girl. Sorry I gave you a scare.” he chuckled while stroking her head.

“Prom! Oh, Prom, thank goodness your guardian angel was watching you!” Igor said as he and Agatha ran up to him.

“Strangely, I AM fine, Igor.” Prometheus looked at his hands “Uh, do either of you know what became of Rose Parcel? I heard she’s the one who called for help for me.”

“She’s staying with her grandparents. She’s just fine thanks to you though emotionally, she’s shaken to her core. From the way she described what happened, I would think you’re lucky to be alive, but you don’t look so bad.” Agatha informed him.

“That’s what’s strange actually...” Prometheus commented out loud.

“It’s about to get stranger. I was reading the notebook and.... uh... You need to read it when you can.” Igor whispered.

“I will once I am discharged, Igor.” Prometheus whispered back before turning to Dr. Fisher “Pardon me, but when will I be discharged, Dr. Fisher.”

“We just need to change your bandages and then you may go home, Dr. Prometheus. We may even do that now.” he smiled as the nurse came in with some new bandages.

However, when Dr. Fisher took off the ones on Prometheus’ arms “Huh? That’s funny... I could have sworn there were wounds here. Small ones, but...”

“Oh, Dr. Prometheus heals very fast.” Agatha explained smiling.

Prometheus smiled uncomfortably as the doctor continued to remove more and more, only to find nothing.

“Well, aren’t you the marvel, Dr. Prometheus? I would have loved to have ability last year when I broke my arm and couldn’t play croquet all spring.” Dr. Fisher chuckled.

“I’m not sure about that...” Prometheus was disturbed by his own body.

Once dressed, he exited the hospital with Ghost on his shoulder, and Igor and Agatha by his side.

“Are you ok, Prom?” Igor noted how pale his friend looked.

“I don’t know. I’m healed already.” Prometheus commented.

“So? You heal overnight all the time, Prometheus. You’ve healed from worse wounds than small scratches and bites.” Agatha reminded him.

“Agatha, Igor, you both don’t understand. I was sliced open all over with chunks of me ripped off and I passed out due to blood loss last night. I should have even had more than stitches and I didn’t even have those!” Prometheus was frantic.

Agatha’s smile faded and Igor stepped in “Prom, have you ever been injured that bad before?”

“Never! I don’t remember. In all the time I do remember, I never got that badly injured. I never even had broken bones.” Prometheus admitted.

Igor rubbed his chin “Say, Prom, why did you leave Albert’s in a rush yesterday to begin with?”

“I wanted to collect some equipment from my home lab to bring back and we could research a cure for those who carry Hedonist’s Stone fragments in them before they turn, but... now, I’m thinking there is no saving these people.” Prometheus admitted.

“Homuncumorphs.” Igor said which caused his friend to look at him “I took some time to read up more on the Hedonist’s Stone in the local library and it turns out that any being who carries some of it in their system is called a homuncumorph.”

“The fact that there is name for them just makes it all the more disturbing...” Agatha shuddered.

“I’m more afraid of what the name I’m going through is. I need to read that notebook first as Igor advised.” Prometheus said out loud.

Once back at Albert’s, the blind old man sat alone at the table with the notebook in front of him. He looked like a mix of worried and stressed. It was also clear that he did not sleep last night from the bags under his eyes.

“Hello, Albert. I’m back and alright. Igor said I need to-” Prometheus was about to take the notebook, but Albert put his hand over it first.

“I suggest you read this in private, Prometheus. And sit down as you do. You’re not going to like what you’re going to learn.” Albert warned.

“How do you know that?” Igor began.

“I can read by feeling the writing. I could make out enough to...” Albert interrupted, then clenched his jaw.

“Albert, you’re scaring me.” Prometheus commented and then turned to Igor.

Igor said nothing as his eyes darted away. Agatha only shrugged. Prometheus took the notebook noticing the bookmark sticking out of it though he took Albert’s advice and decided to read it in private in the study with only Ghost to keep him company.

I'd be a bit freaked out, too, if I healed that quick after being practically mauled to death...

Dr. Prometheus is an amnesiac who's earliest memory only dates back three years. He has the appearance of a ragdoll, the strength of twenty men, a heart of gold and extensive medical and surgical knowledge which he uses to help the sick and injured regardless of social standing. One day, Prof. Victor Frankenstein, the man who is most likely responsible for Prometheus' mental and physical, comes into town to share his wonder treatment with anyone rich enough to afford it, but along with it, strange and terrifying things start happening which Prometheus will not stand for. In doing so, he slowly remembers his dark past and the darker truth about himself...
