We’ve been through a lot in 2020. Nature has shown her wrath; a pandemic has brought us to our knees; a nation has delivered brutality in the face of equality. I began writing my first novel, Destroying the Girl, at a time when the chaos of this year seemed like an impossibility.
I thought that the book’s themes could be a bleak fantasy mirror of our future, where a nation is ripped apart, race and culture are suppressed, and resistance has been decimated.
Now, perhaps it can be the start of something hopeful. How can I still be afraid at this point?
Set in a world that is dystopian for many, and a utopia for a few, it somehow has become much more lighthearted than the reality we’re stuck in.
I want to give my stories to as many people as possible. That’s why I’m introducing something I have envisioned for a long, long time. Read Your Way. What does that mean? You can read everything I release for free at https://lnrd.ink. You can read it for free here on Tapas.
If you wish to support my work, you can ‘Go Premium.’ This unlocks a special members-only portal with ad-free reading, evolving character profiles, high-definition maps integrated into the story, and much more.
This new experience is launching July 1st at the latest. You can subscribe to the newsletter or go premium already! Premium starts at $1/mo, but the real fun begins at $3. https://www.patreon.com/lnrdink
It has happened dozens of times. However, the last two cycles were the most difficult in retrospect. I returned to one of my old pages a couple years ago to find my first fan letter ever, collecting dust in my inbox.
This latest instance, I decided to finally bridge the gap between my writing, family, and friends, allowing people who have always asked what I write to actually read and support it if they so chose.
With a wedding, new job, and so many other little road bumps this year, I had to take a break. I'm not surprised at this point.
What shocked me, however, was returning here--with three stories at varying stages of completion--and discovering a handful of donations from complete strangers who loved my writing.
The support of family and friends always empowers me, but to then have even the slightest hint of validation from beyond my immediate surroundings is something else entirely.
I want to come back. So, here I come.
Reapers Need Love, Too is coming back.
Elsewhere Unknown is coming back.
So much more is about to begin.
Thank you for your patience.
RNLT is gearing back up for a final run of episodes next week. I had a whole lot of garbage rise in my day job and haven't had a thought to even think about writing (that's just the worst).

While some might call what I've accomplished in this short period of time as laughable, I've never been happier.
Of all the things I've done, my writing has been a private affair and being able to say I have over 20 subscribers is 20x more than I ever expected. So, thank you for coming along for the ride!

Thank you to everyone who continues to read, rate, and comment on the series. You're making me so unbearably happy.
