Depending on who you ask, Adam Wolfe is either the greatest magician who's ever lived, or the most dangerous.
Adam possesses incredible magical power, but an almost total lack of control makes him a ticking time bomb. When he accidentally sets fire to his school, the respected St. Bosco's School for Magic, it looks like the Council is prepared to strip Adam of his magic, for the safety of the rest of the magical community. And if the Council doesn't get to him first, the Magician's Rebellion Front, an underground rebel group, are prepared to hunt Adam down and use him as a tool to overthrow the Council's power.
Things look bleak for Adam, until Felix Roth, a classmate and the son of a family of staunch Council supporters, comes to him with an impossible plan: find Merlin's staff, lost for a thousand years, and the only object that is powerful enough to potentially help Adam control his magic.
