(The sequel to "Breaking Magic")

It's three years after Adam Wolfe's dramatic senior year at St. Bosco's School for Magicians. He hasn't cast one unintentional spell in over two years, and he hasn't heard from the Council in almost as long.
But Felix notices that Adam seems far from happy, and he finally gets Adam to reveal that he's feeling lost-at-sea when it comes to his future. In an attempt to re-discover his identity, Adam decides to try to learn who his dead mother really was, and what led to the unusual circumstances that turned Adam into the magician he is now.

Things take a turn for the worse, however, when it's revealed that Samuel, the powerful MRF member that was sent to kidnap Adam years before, has escaped from prison.

With tensions rising as the Magician's Independence Movement, a radical offshoot of the Magician's Revolution Front, grow more bold in their attacks on the Council and Council supporters, Samuel's escape could have drastic consequences for Adam.
