This is a Transformers Animated AU in which Optimus fell with Megatron off the Autobot ship. Both came back online 50 stellar cycles later on an alien planet trapped in the same laboratory.
Oh and Optimus Prime instead of being kicked out was stationed with a dead job (a job that goes nowhere with promotion/is basically considered fairly insignificant) because why would he still be considered a Prime if it's supposed to be a rank?
