I’m in the canteen right now, Why?

Saying sorry in front of the whole class was just way too small and sensei(teacher) says we want to make it grandiose.

He answered my mentioned question like this…

“… What would you feel if a person who you probably hate, said sorry to you out of nowhere??? You’ll feel suspicious of the motive and even when the person is 100 per cent genuine, you are going to misjudge the apology.”

I nodded my head, and then asked??? 

“So what should I do to make this apology sound genuine, like any other ‘normal’ apology?”

I asked because I wanted to know what sort of plot he was thinking and how was it all going to turn out…

“The apology would be set in canteen instead of classroom-”

I gaged for a second as soon as I heard canteen… and without thinking I shouted

“WAITT… did you just say canteen???”

He nodded… with a question mark as an expression…

“I don’t think you understand my condition here… I’m scared of people and why in the hell are you selecting a place where all of the school resides…”

He smiled again…wait now that I think, it was more of a smirk…

“Well, you want to say ‘sorry’ to her in front of the same class where you ‘diarrhoea-ed’ her?? Like wouldn’t that be suspicious…”

I repressed as I was made to back away from him cause he fucking makes more sense… GOD, why is he right all the time!!!???

And that’s how I am here THE CANTEEN…a nightmare for a loner but a heaven for a lonely.

Now that I look more clearly it was a pretty neat canteen … like the scenario was pretty much like every other high school canteen but for some reason, it had this familiar atmosphere around it that I just couldn’t explain.

Opps I was caught there for a minute… but let’s get going with the steps laid out by sensei… I pray to God that the plan goes well.

I went to the food handlers got my plate… pretty much your normal canteen dishes.

So now where is our target…wait did we ever confirmed that she visits canteen… like most of the students enjoy places different from the canteen itself.

I can’t seem to find her among like 100’s of students… is our plan going to fail before it even saw the daylight???

Oh…wait there she is…a blonde girl with curls rolling down to her shoulders. Surrounded by her two friends…looks like her gang reduced significantly after that incident in class.

Yes, look there is also a seat just conveniently empty besides her...

I moved towards her slowly and slowly…and soon the group noticed me and frowned at me…

Gyaa those piercing gazes are real deal… should I just turn around. What if I couldn’t do it… What if the plan doesn’t work out… that’s the last line if I crossed it there is no return…as I thought of many more things … I had crossed that line.

My heart gave out, My plate started to mildly shake as the ripples in the strawberry milkshake rose… I remembered his words

“Look you don’t have to be scared if your condition does start acting up, take deep breaths and remember if something does go wrong I’ll be nearby… I’ll step in.”

I took a deep breath and brought those dreamy eyes in front of me…and with confidence, I walked to them.

“What do you want now???”

A ginger headed girl asked me as if I was there to do something bad to them… Like seriously you bullied me not the other way.

“Oh, Lily… I just saw an empty seat and was hoping to sit here.”

I behaved normally as if nothing had happened between us… Lily was startled to the core, as she didn’t know what was happening and what should she do…

“Oh I- I mean- like ---”

She wavered through her words as she quickly looked at Alice who did nothing but nodded at her…

Lily quickly backed down…

Kyaa they are scowling at me even more strongly now…

But weirdly Alice kept avoiding my gaze when I sneaked a peek at her…huh, a villainess I thought.

“There’s no one sitting here…”

Oh, Alice just invited me to sit beside her…Well, she’s still avoiding looking at me by closing her eyes completely… I mean look at your food… you might eat something else.

I ran towards the seat as quickly as I could… not because I was eager but my feet were giving up on me. I mean it would be bad if someone saw me with shaking legs.

I soon noticed the gazes of these girls were not the only gazes I felt cause the entire canteen was silent like eerily silent but I ignored them and proceeded with the plan…

“So Alice, May and Lily it’s a good thing that I found you here, I’ve been meaning to tell you something…”

I said while looking cool as I eat a piece of my sandwich.

The two sitting in front of me had their eyes wide open and Alice still tried to maintain her cool by keeping her eyes closed but I could see her getting nervous just from the moment of her cheeks and lips.

*Clink* *Clank*

May’s spoon feel down as she soon started shaking… calm down girl.

“Oops… looks like you’ll need another spoon… here take mine.”

I moved my hand forward with my spoon to which she twitched and cautiously took it from me.

“What do you want??”

Alice gulped as she softly asked me…

“Well about what happened yesterday-”

Everyone was frightened more like the shock of what they heard slowly sunk in… now all of them pinched their eyes closed as if they were expecting for the worst.

“I want to forget everything that happened but every scene of it is still fresh in my head… it appears in front of eyes every time I close them. It’s just something I can’t seem to get rid off. And somewhere along the line when I thought of you all… Even though it’s just a pipe dream of a young stupid girl, I want to believe that it wasn’t meant to turn out that way--”

They all opened their eyes, which were almost filled to the brim--- Aww they look just like little kittens right now.

“- So I just want to forget these feelings I feel when I look at you and the only way to do it is to rewrite them with other ones…”

Lily started to cry… Well, the harsh ones are the softest one…haha. Soon May joined in too and Alice showed nothing—wait is that a smile I see- she soon corrected herself.

“So how about we start again???”

I smiled at all of them…and both the girls started crying like there was no tomorrow and pursed their lips while they nodded furiously… but Alice was a tough egg to crack though but her smile which was wider than anything else gave out her feelings.

Both the girls looked towards Alice who slowly looked towards me and said…

“I- I – me me too”

Kyaa she said it just like Leo said… so she was holding her tears back…

I don’t know how to feel at this moment, I mean after all this time after all those lonely moments I’ve gone through I’m finally making friends and that too because of him… I think I was right only he can help me.

As much as I wanna deny it… he is the reason that I get to experience this new feeling of having friends.

I tried finding that familiar face in the crowd… but I just couldn’t seem to hold of the long wavy haired dude… well, I should look for the guy that stands out the least…

As soon as I did that I found him… at the back smirking at me as if he was saying ‘there you go’… I smiled back at him to which he signalled next step…

Oh yea I forgot the next step which was to say sorry, I mean is it even necessary at this point… Oh well

“By the way-”

I composed myself again as I started with a softer tone…

“I’m sorry for- like saying to things in class”

I looked downwards as I said this not because it was an act but a genuine feeling of guilt and embarrassment…

Both Lily and Amy grabbed my hands, got up, and hugged me tightly…

“Silly… after saying all that… why did you have to bring that up…we are the ones that are sorry… really sorry-- ”

They cried more and more while Alice was looking at us with her mouth wide open but she resisted from joining us...

“—you know Chelsea… we will make tons of memories and we will surely be the bestest of the friends.”

Aww, these two are really sweet… well only when you get to know them… I mean they are loyal too like they never left Alice’s side even when conditions were bad. Surely I’m happy to call them as my friends.

I then patted the heads of the girls who were hugging and crying loudly… just like someone standing over there did for me.

On the other hand the other girl was making glittery eyes while looking at us…saying I want to join in too but was just avoiding my gaze when I looked at her… yeah she is annoying just like Leo said…

“I-I--”

“Chelsea Do you know what a tsundere is??”

“Yeah, like I know what anime is…”

“Well tomorrow you’ll see one…”

“- I’m sorry to okay…”

A tsundere girl said.

 (Japanese term for a character development process that depicts a person who is initially cold before gradually showing a warmer, friendlier side over time.)

I looked at our loner boy again… who gave me a thumbs-up as he started walking away...

While leaving he started clapping which prompted everyone around us to do the same…as they started rounding around us…

Soon I lost the sight of Loner boy who left like a hero who completed his job.
