I'm a hobby artist with a soft spot for fantasy, working with my boyfriend to create Freedom. While I may be in charge of the visuals, he is the vast encyclopedia that makes the comic possible. He keeps me on track with plot and story, somehow remembering all the fine details that I tend to forget. Without him to work with, Freedom just wouldn't be possible.
Comics are a new genre for the both of us, but we hope to learn, grow and improve our storytelling as time goes by. Any pointers, suggestions and comments are welcomed with open arms!

Goodness, I haven't been in here in ages. I am so SO very very sorry for not sticking with Freedom. There was a point where I felt super energized and eager and on the right track... and then it all went away.
What I recall now is a period of heavy depression setting in and killing my desire for this story. I tried again and again but just couldn't find the drive. I honestly thought I'd made a post here declaring an infinite hiatus, and I'm sorry that wasn't the case.
I don't think I'll ever pick up Freedom again. While my fiance (co-author) and I had a good long epic story in the works, a ton of world-building and of course a sprinkling of romance, nowadays the story is just not good enough.
I have grown as an author and story creator, though I feel that my visual approach is still lacking behind. Comics are though man! Difficult as heck! I set out on the 'Freedom' journey to visualize a story my fiance and I loved, but as we grew, the story showed more and more raw edges. Freedom taught me so much! And I am sorry we never really got past introductions.
Thank you all for reading and supporting us! Through comments and spreading the comic, you all mean so much to me and us!
We still have stories to tell. We might do little shorts from the Freedom world, maybe tell the story in a short format rather than one long run, but for now, I do consider Freedom as canceled.
I still want to create comics, I just need to find a story that really drives me.

Freedom is BACK!
I probably should have posted this yesterday when I added new pages, but heck! I forgot :)
Freedom is back, and we are super happy to be updating again. A tonne of stuff has changed. Major parts of the story have been changed and we've done a lot of character alterations. Decided to make a few cuts here and there, and it has really helped the story.
Updates will be whenever we have a page ready. Aaaand we have a Tumblr to share, where we'll post wips, sketches, random fun, ask the cast answers and so on. Do drop by and follow! https://talesfromthechalice.tumblr.com/
Here is an older sketch of SOME of the cast, with flat colors tossed on for fun. Rose and Thyrian look WAY too young, but hot damn Izzy, Raven and Jocelyn came out PERFECT!

It is with heavy heart that we announce an indefinite hiatus on Freedom.
This project has brought us a lot of joy, taught us many valuable lessons and helped us expand out individual skills, but it has unfortunately also brought with it a tremendous amount of stress.
I, Louise, am at a point where I no longer experience any joy in working on Freedom and instead battle heavy depression, not caused by the comic, but very much intensified by it. I need a break and I have no way of telling how long it will be. I realize that this may sound childish to some, that I should be able to shrug off the pressure and 'just have fun', but this is literally and impossible feat to ask of someone with life-long depression.
Does this mean the end of Freedom?
No. Mark and I will still be working, but there will be no updates. We will continue to write the story and expand upon the world, because Freedom is still very dear to us and a project we would loathe to leave behind, but I need to think of my health first and we both hope you will all understand.
It's been a fantastic journey and we have gathered some amazing followers! We want to thank you all for having stuck with us through thick and thin, and we hope to see you in some distant part of the future. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask them below.

The comic is not over, it's simply taking a long nap. And sorry, at the moment I can't really gather myself enough to give any good advice. Good luck tho.
