I have been absent for over two weeks now. I knew because of my job January would prove problematic to keep drawing new pages and indeed it is the case. I have decided to put The Frolic on a ~month long hiatus. When I return in February, I will hopefully keep adding new pages without any additional breaks until this story concludes (which will happen with the end of chapter 6). Thank you for your patience (if there is any).
It seems that today's page will not only be delayed (I'm expecting it to be up around Friday), but it will most likely be my last update of 2019... because, you know, holiday season and stuff.
So I was thinking about doing the right thing and finishing a page today, but it's 2:30 AM already, I have 4 hours of sleep left and the page still requires a lot of work. So instead of giving you a half-assed result I will actually finish it and post tomorrow.
I went to Italy yesterday and will be staying here for almost two weeks. Normally that would mean two 'empty' weeks regarding new pages. As I was trying to avoid this, I nearly completed #3p18, just to make this one empty week instead, but due to time restraints I failed (I was literally falling asleep at the tablet around three hours before heading off to the airport). I didn't want to post a half-assed page today, so I'll finish it and post probably next Friday and then we'll be back to the normal Wednesday-ish schedule.
So it looks like drawing at the actual desk is much easier compared to drawing while lounging around on your couch with the tablet on your lap. Who would have thought?
Through lectures and research, through life and through love, I am struggling to secure some hours for drawing. The rate at which I upload pages happened to get better, but it's still far from once a week which would seem acceptable. Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish page 17 today, even though I was kind of close - all that was left was coloring of the last two panels. Now I'm headed towards the mountains where I'll spend the next week which implies an additional delay. Luckily I have a feeling that I'm on a right track and once I get back the rate will get better still.
To quote the poet, be seeing you!
