Heracles is one of the most advanced cities in Dracus, and yet the gender rules haven’t altered since the country’s unity and development three hundred years ago. Not when it comes to family structures, societal beliefs, and work. Especially not the military, which investigates and tackles the most difficult crimes in the city. However, not everyone on the base believes in the centuries old rules, and are determined to dismantle the status quo.

Kit Kelly is a strong-willed Omega who has rebelled against his gender his entire life, culminating in him masquerading as a Beta to become a soldier, while Michael Andrew is an Alpha who is trying to do a Beta's job. Then there's Nicholas Chambers, an Alpha who hates Betas and is on the fast track to a career in the military. If he can only ignore, or get rid of, the annoying Colt Saunders, a stubborn Beta who refuses to follow the rules and is determined to climb the Alpha special ladder, or destroy it. Lastly, Omega Flynn Hale is just trying to live under the radar and achieve his own happiness by wooing his childhood crush and best friend Beta Damon Flint, who isn't as eager as Flynn to ignore the gender rules.
