Monna and their companion Larry (the Tree Bug) set out on a quest to locate her father and bring him home after discovering he's gone missing. However, on the way, they discover many ancient secrets about the world they thought they knew. With these ancient mysteries now unlocked, something - or someone - is moving through rips in time and planes to take this new power for themselves. Though young, Monna, and by extension, Larry, are chosen by the Goddess of Life to stop this fiend.
